My name is Geoff, and I'm an artist and designer in Pittsburgh, PA.
I taught Painting and Drawing at the Savannah College of Art and Design, I have an MFA in Painting from the University of Oregon and a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In ~1999, I got into Interaction Design and started offering classes at SCAD teaching fine arts students to put their portfolios on CDs and websites. That was in 2001. One thing led to another, and these days I make my living as an Interaction Designer at Google - an amazing experience I adore.
But painting will always be my first love and my most vulnerable state, and remains my daily practice. Observational painting, especially, stills the world for me in a way that functions like antidote to the overstimulation and attention-hijacking of the tech-mediated world I help design and in which we all must live.
